Denise Winmill School of Dance was founded in 1982 and provides expert tuition for children and senior students, from 3yrs to 18 yrs, training in classical ballet, jazz and tap dance.

Classes take place in a safe, happy and structured environment. The highly qualified teachers encourage students to gain grace and strength, as well as developing their confidence, self-discipline, musicality and a joy of dance.

Classes are held at Long Ditton Village Hall, near Surbiton, in light and airy studios with sprung floors and barres.

Please look through our website to find out more or contact us to receive further information.

Even if your child never becomes a professional dancer, our dance classes provide the fundamentals for good posture for life.

Lockdown learning

We very much enjoyed the work of our students during Lockdown. Although we missed our face to face classes, this did give us the opportunity to cover some broader subjects with the course work that supplemented our online classes.

Congratulations to our Senior Students

Although we experienced a total lockdown during the summer term, our senior students returned fighting fit and determined to enter for their Higher Grade 6 and 7 ballet examinations at the Royal Academy of Dance Headquarters, in Battersea. We managed to enter on the last Friday before Lockdown 2 and the results were marvelous with successes across the board. “Well done girls”

Iris West Classical Ballet Bursary

On the last day of the Autumn Term, we were delighted to present “The Iris West Classical Ballet Bursary” to Salma Freshwater-Turner, a cheque for £50 to put towards her passion for ballet. Congratulations Salma on all your hard work!
